One of Ghana’s representatives at the upcoming African Bodybuilding Championship. Joseph Ofoli Kwei is confident of winning the nation a PRO Card.

Popularly known in bodybuilding circles as ‘Joe Bataba’, the tall athletic and well built professional bodybuilder is one of the two representing the nation at this year’s event being hosted in Angola from the 16th to 17th August 2019.

In an interview with www,totalsportsgh.com, he mentioned that training is still ongoing and he is in very good shape ahead of the tournament adding that winning the nation another PRO Card is his vision.

“So far so good, I will say. Training is still ongoing. You know with bodybuilding every day you have to train and continue to get in shape. Diet and prepping are also on course. So what is left now is the support from all Ghanaians who love the sport as we strive to win the nation yet another PRO Card”, he mentioned.

According to him, finances have been very difficult, an action that ha seen most of his colleagues drop out of the Angola trip.

“This is a very expensive sport and individual one as well. Unfortunately, there is no form of sponsorship coming from the government ahead of this competition. Our mother association, the Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (GBFA) is doing its best to make sure we get to the top and that motivates us.

“However I feel more can be done so as to get some sponsors to come on board to help the Association to get more PRO Cards for the nation.

Joe Bataba is one of Ghana’s fast-rising bodybuilders at the moment. He has several awards and titles under his belt. He won Ghana a gold medal in May this year, winning the overall prize in the Men’s Bodybuilding Up to 90kg in the Arnold Classic competition held in South Africa.
