Hardworking president of Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association Abdul Hayye Yartey last night was honoured with the Meritorious Award at the 2020 Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards ceremony held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
He was honoured with the prestigious ‘Meritorious Award’ for his immense contribution to the development of sports in the country especially Bodybuilding where he has single-handedly seen the rise of the sport in the country.
He has also been a pivot around which hundreds of great soccer talents have blossomed into greatness and features for the various national team across the board.
A great philanthropist par excellence, Abdul Hayye Yartey is a household name in Ghana when it comes to grassroots football and Bodybuilding where he doubles as the president of the Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association.
“We’ve been putting in the works over years as our little contribution towards the development of Sports in Ghana and it’s a great honour to see that your efforts have been recognized by a great organization like Sports Writers Association of Ghana,” Yartey mentioned in an interview after the event which was well attended.
“I am very pleased to be awarded by SWAG and I believe this will go a long way to motivate me to do more towards the development of sport in the country.”
