The first-ever fitness retreat in Ghana was held over the weekend in the Volta Region.
Dubbed “Fitness Retreat With Charles”, the event which was organized by the Health and Fitness Matters (HFM) in collaboration with the Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association saw quite a sizeable number in attendance with Ghanaians from all over the country participating, an action that brought together both married couples and as well as single ladies and gentlemen to workout and network.
The two-day event was held at Wli in the Hohoe District of the Volta region, saw participants embark on an adventure to challenge themselves whilst exploring some Ghana tourist sites.
Participants were taken to the Wli Water Falls on the first day before they were treated an Aerobics session in the evening at the town center.
Day 2 saw the participants climb mountain Afadjato, which is the highest mountain in Ghana and the third highest in Africa.
Speaking to www.totalsportsgh.com the President of the Health and Fitness Matters, Charles Owusu-Ansah was happy with the turnout, especially being the first of its kind in Ghana, adding that more of such activities are in the pipeline.
“This was an unforgettable experience for all the participants including myself. It was mind-blowing as it took us out of our comfort zone and also pushed us beyond our limit. This will be organized yearly to create more awareness for our tourist sites in Ghana”, Charles who also doubles as the Vice President of the Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association.
